My name is Gareth, I am currently a teacher of a Year 3 class in New Zealand.

I have been teaching for 7 years and I am a advocate of using technology and best practice to improve educational outcomes for students.  

I am have worked in a team teaching environment making use of Google Apps for Education and using Hapara as an administration tool.  The team I work with are trying hard to incorporate inquiry learning practices into all curriculum areas to try and develop our learners problem solving and critical thinking skills.

I am now developing similar practices within a junior learning environment.  Looking for ways to leverage the best ideas I have found so far into this setting. 

This is my first attempt at a personal blog site, I have created and used class blogs for years now but I have never created one for my own professional development.  I will be posting about Professional Learning and Development, my Teaching as Inquiry goals and steps and other initiatives I am using to improve learning in my class at across the school.

So please follow if you like, and share your opinions.  Feedback and feedforward is key to making progress and this is no different for teachers.
